Remote Support


Welcome to my Remote Support Page. This is the page to be on if you need me to remotely help you with your computer!

Following the instructions on this page will allow me to be able to provide support for your computer without the need for a visit.

It involves the installation of a small programme called LogMeIn which once installed is completely under your control and is just one of dozens of similar programmes used by all the main Computer Companies such as Microsoft, Virgin, HP etc., in order to provide support for their customers and thousands on Businesses who's IT Departments use to support the employees.

Before we start one quick question - Do you have to use a password when you first switch on your computer? If so, my advice is to remove it, log off and back on again - otherwise you are going to have to tell me what it is - you'd be surprised how many people do this because they don't know how to remove the password!


OK are we ready? Here's a few things you need to know.

Please read these points BEFORE you start the install or you WILL fail.

1. When you click the LogMeIn Logo below you may be asked if you want to run or save the file it wants to download - depending on what browser you are using and what Operating System you have (XP, Vista, Windows 7 etc.,) - anyway, if you are asked, choose RUN. This will download and run a file - you may be prompted by Windows Security to allow the install to continue - please do so.

2. Let the Logmein installation proceed by click Next, Agree to the License and choose Typical when prompted to do so.

3. You will be asked for a Description - enter your name and mobile number (if you have one) at this stage.

4. If you don't have a log on password you will be asked to provide an Access Code - if asked, please use 12345678 this is for ME to use when I access your computer.

 

That's it - 4 simple steps. If you are ready to proceed just click the Logo below.
